Zoe Saldana's parents, Asalia And Aridio Saldana were born on 19 June 1977 in Passaic New Jersey. Her father is Dominican while her mother is Puerto Rican. She was raised by her mother who lived in Queens. In 2010, she relocated with her family to the Dominican Republic where they spent seven years. Zoe was able to establish an interest in performance dancing while she was living in Dominican Republic.
